I am a 24-year-old young person studying to become a community educator. I will graduate at Christmas 2020 (read: I’m looking for a job). I originally come from Seinäjoki in the flatlands of Pohjanmaa, but my studies brought me to Jyväskylä. I am passionate about working with and supporting young people. My other interests include acoustic guitar, all kinds of sports and the impact of social media. I also like talking to audiences and giving lectures. I have a positive attitude towards life and I always try to see the brighter side of things.

My work in Verke focuses on everything in and around Digital youth work that falls under the category of Digital cultures – which means everything from digital games to producing media content and arts and crafts. Outside of work my time is preferrably spent with analogue music and paper comics.

The author is finishing her doctoral thesis in communication sciences on agency in a programmed society at Tampere University. She is also researching the significance people place on data collected on them in digital environments in the Digital Face project at Aalto University.
